In Harmony With The Natural Universe
More sophisticated applications of Qi were treated with utmost secrecy through the ages. Masters used to keep the final key to all their teachings and may choose to divulge such teachings only to chosen disciples. In many cases though, the secret(s) were never disclosed, thus diluting the teachings over generations. Obviously charlatans abound and they serve to do a disservice to the entire group, and destroy the good name of the craft.
We are fortunate these days in that a number of Masters are more liberal in their beliefs and wish to promote the adoption and acceptance of these skills to the populace. While society in general is not all embracing, it has been gratifying to see the gradual assimilation of these into the global psyche.
Beyond Feng Shui, (Four Pillars and actually the precursor to these) is a more sophisticated analysis of Qi known as Qi Men Dun Jia (QMDJ). Where we have seen the Heaven Qi, Earth Qi and Human Qi being analyzed, QMDJ introduces a few more levels of Qi. Thus, it can become very complicated as more and more factors and inter-relations need to be considered and analyzed. The number of possible Qi interactions go up a whole lot.
Qi Men Dun Jia
QMDJ includes at least another two other dimensions to the basic 4 Pillars. To generate the correct chart for analysis, one will need a good grasp of 4P and the basic element relationships. Though more complicated, QMDJ is actually the basis of Feng Shui and 4P.
It has been referenced in the Chinese epic - Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a classic equivalent to the Iliad in the West. Crafted against the backdrop when China was divided into three states, the famous Battle of the Red Cliffs pitched Prime Minister Zhou Yu against Cao Cao. Zhou Yu's advisor Zhu Geliang was reputed to have consulted QMDJ harnessing an Easterly wind that helped Zhou Yu's ships win over Cao Cao's forces, along the Yang Zi river. This was inspite of all indications that no wind will arise.
Whether this is a legend (can we say Troy ?) remains to be discovered. Nevertheless, the applications of QMDJ is real. Below is a sample chart used in QMDJ.
So, what does one use QMDJ for ? Very simply, to find out the possible outcomes of a scenario/situation and determine a course of action. Some typical applications include ;
QMDJ, however, is not divination....ie. no attempt is made to connect with other entities in whatever form. Only the Qi that is present is analyzed and utilized. As with the other applications of Qi management, free will is always prevalent. It does not claim to be the solution to everything but only provides a facet of information for us to consider and assist in our decisions. Ultimately, the final outcome of any scenario will be a combination of the Qi and decision(s) made by the individual/group/organization concerned.
Nevertheless, QMDJ does provide a thorough and comprehensive analysis of the unseen forces at work that influence the possible outcomes. Therefore, it then becomes an invaluable tool to aid in making decisions.
Yi Jing (I Ching)
Yi Jing involves communication between the questioner and the universe. Akin to having one's concerns answered through prayers, or receiving a divine message through the Tarot or at places of religious worship, the Yi Jing forms a answer through a set of lines called hexagrams.
Logical interpretation of the lines allow one to picture the answer and make a decision towards effecting the necessary change in one's life. The 'diviner' (for after all, one is communicating with a level that that is beyond the physical plane) will use a set of 3 coins (ancient or otherwise). With the question posed in his/her mind, the coins are then cast, and the resulting outcome of Face or Back are recorded. This is performed six times, to obtain the six lines for the hexagram.
It takes many years of practice for the diviner to actually become competent. He/she will also have to be unbiased in his/her opinion, strictly adhering to the logical reasoning to paint the picture depicted by the hexagram.
Consciousness Shift ?
In recent months, there appear to be more focus on the doom and gloom of 2012. There are also claims that the I Ching foretells such. However, one ought to seek the truth for oneself and not just rely on information from uncorroborated sources. There are many sources for such information/mis-information. Trusting one's higher self in seeking out the truth is usually the best course of action.
One thing is certain. Things are speeding up and knowledge is increasing.....EXPONENTIALLY ! Whether this culminates in 2012 or later is really out there. The key is to be conscious and aware of one's actions, and the realization that we are all part of the Universe. Acting responsibly and with compassion to all beings is surely a worthy goal of each and every human.
A recent radio show hosted by Dr. Robert Pease at his Co-Creator network is worth listening to. He interviewed David Wilcock, a lecturer and researcher on consciousness, and many of the concepts brought forth can be related to Qi. A download is available at : http://co-creatornetwork.com/
There is also a plethora of websites, talk shows and publications on these. Each is encouraged to find out for him/her self the real truth. Using one's intuition is a good start and awareness of surroundings help enhance one's level of mental acuity to filter and comprehend the onslaught of media inputs. Only then will one be able to discern the truth from the fallacies.
